Swissbit enters the memory card market by introducing SD Memory Card, miniSD, MMCplus and MMCmobile memory card formats
Swissbit is about to extent its flash memory and USB Flash Drive product range to include flash memory cards. At CeBIT 2006 in Hannover, Germany 9 – 15 March 2006, Swissbit is planning to present a complete product range portfolio for the SD Memory Card, miniSD, MMCplus and MMCmobile formats. The move is intended to give Swissbit a shot at the mobile phone market, as well as digital cameras, navigation devices etc.
The SD Memory Card format is expected to reach storage capacities up to 4 GB with a transfer speed of 133 X. It is also expected to introduce a 4 GB miniSD, the highest storage capacity today.
The MMCplus will reach 4 GB storage capacity with transfer speed of 133 X and the MMCmobile will be available with the maximum capacity of 1 GB at 60 X.
