Samsung introduced the world’s first 8 GB hard disk drive mobile phone, the SGH-i310, with a microSD/TransFlash memory card slot. It also offers USB 2.0 and Plug & Play feature, which allows the mobile phone to be utilized as a removable hard disk drive. The SGH-i310 will be shown to the public at CeBIT from March 9th to March 16th. It will be introduced in the European market in second half of 2006.

Panasonic will introduce six new HD plasma televisions with SD Memory Card slot and Photo Viewer software. The SD slot in combination with the Panasonic’s Photo Viewer software will allow consumers to take their SD Memory Cards and MultiMediaCards (MMC card) directly from a digital camera or camcorder, insert it directly into the television and view slide shows of their digital photos. They will also be able to view or play other digital files on the new plasma televisions with integrated SD Memory Card slot.
The new line will also have PC input and a Cable Card slot, a feature that eliminates the need for a separate set-top box to receive HD signals via cable. The new plasma televisions will be available in summer 2006.
