Transcend introduces the 80 X miniSD memory card

Transcend released a 2 GB storage capacity miniSD memory card. The 80 X high-speed miniSD card joins the ranks of the highest capacity miniSD memory cards in the world. Transcend provides an adapter, which allows the miniSD memory card to be used in SD Memory Card slots.

For being able in achieving transfer speeds of 80 X, Transcend has used the SLC, Single-Level-Cell, flash technology in its miniSD memory card. This makes the memory card also more durable and reliable. It also saves valuable battery time for the electronic devise in which it is being used since it consumes less power.

ATP launches 2 GB ProMax miniSD memory card

ATP has today announced its final preparations to mass-produce the 2 GB miniSD ProMax memory card. In addition to the high storage density the 2 GB ProMax miniSD will allow fast transfer speeds of up to 150 X or 22.5 MB/sec.

ATP will display its full range of flash memory card products for mobile phones and wireless applications at the upcoming CTIA show (Booth #3402) in Las Vegas, NV, on April 5-7.

SanDisk launches the high-performance Ultra II Mobile Line, consisting of the microSD, miniSD and Memory Stick PRO Duo formats

SanDisk introduced its high-performance Ultra II Mobile line of flash memory cards for mobile phones. The new line consists of three memory card formats: microSD, miniSD and Memory Stick PRO Duo. The introduction of Memory Stick PRO Duo was actually announced on February 26.

The Ultra II Mobile line provides a combination of high transfer speed, low energy consumption and high storage capacity for meeting the demand of the new mobile phones with integrated MP3 players and high-resolution digital cameras.

The Ultra II memory cards have faster read and write speeds than standard flash memory cards, the minimum write speed is 9 MB/sec and read speed 10 MB/sec, and will have extended warranties in all regions of the world. The cards will be offered only in high capacities, ranging from 1 GB to 4 GB.

The Ultra II Mobile line will be available in mobile phone stores and other retailers in spring 2006. The suggested retail prices are listed below:
