US Modular introduces the Stik & Stor as a new storage device for mobile phones

As competition heats up in memory card industry, US Modular introduced the Stik & Stor as an alternative storage device to regular memory cards. The Stik & Stor is an external storage device that can be attached to a regular mobile phone or any other device with a Trasflash/microSD slot. It somehow plugs into the mobile phone’s slot and links it to a larger storage cell that sits outside the mobile phone. Then the external storage cell sticks to the mobile phone’s external surface.

Diimage to develop a new small size memory card standard

The Taiwan-based Diimage Corporation announced that it will develop flash memory cards with specifications other than the Secure Digital, Memory Stick and xD-Picture Card. The new memory card will be introduced under the Benica brand name and will include an USB adaptor/connector for eliminating the need of a memory card reader.

The company has delivered samples of its memory card to a number of handset makers for testing and said also that the new memory card application will be free of any royalty payment charges.
