PNY Technologies introduced several, new higher-speed, higher-capacity memory cards. The company’s new 60X Optima CompactFlash memory cards and 60X Optima SD Memory card can now capture, transfer and store data at a minimum sustained write speed of up to 9 MB/sec, and read speed of 10 MB/sec (66x) while its Optima Pro SD Memory Cards are capable of a write speed up to 20 MB/sec (133x).
PNY Technologie’s high-speed Optima CF and Optima SD cards will be available in 512MB, 1GB and 2GB in Q1 2006 from specialty camera retailers and e-tailers. PNY Optima Pro SD Memory Cards will be available in Q2 2006 from specialty camera stores. Available in 1GB and 2GB storage capacities, both Optima and Optima Pro come with a lifetime warranty.

Panasonic’s new projector, PT-P1SD, weigh only 1.3 kg (2.9 lbs) and measuring just 23.4 x 18.8 x 6.5 cm (9.2˝ x 7.4˝ x 2.6˝). The advantage with the build in SD Memory Card slot is that you need no computer to do a PowerPoint presentation. You need just to use Panasonic’s Image Creator software to convert a Microsoft PowerPoint file into JPEG files and save them onto your SD Memory Card.
You just insert the SD Memory Card in the slot and the PT-P1SD automatically switches on and begins a presentation or slide show automatically. It gets also ready to project digital still images and moving pictures. The images on the SD Memory Card are displayed as a list of thumbnails; there you just select the image you want to view. It also features built-in slide show functions for viewing your digital photos.
An anti-theft key function is built in a SD Memory Card allowing operation only when a registered SD Memory Card is used on the projector.

The iPod dock and memory card reader is made for the iPod nano, iPod mini, iPod photo, and the original iPod. It allows a user to access various formats of memory cards while also charging an iPod, playing music via external speakers, and syncing the iPod with a computer.
The device has slots for xD-Picture Card, SD Memory Card, MMC, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick Duo, SmartMedia Card and Type I/II CompactFlash. The dock is also having an USB 2.0 interface for transferring files between a computer and memory cards.
The product sells for $49.95 before any applicable rebates and comes with one-year warranty. External speakers for playing music from an iPod are not included.
