Flash Drive
Flash Drive is a device based on NAND flash memory and serves the same purpose as a hard disk drive. It is mostly used by laptop computers and other sophisticated solutions that require high reliability and durability. Flash Drive has superior advantages compared to hard disk drive. Since it is based on flash memory it has non-moving parts instead of the rotating disks found in hard drives. Therefore can upload and download data quickly, 1.5 to 3 times faster, and quietly with minimal power consumption, just five percent of the electricity needed to power a hard disk drive. Flash Drives is also much more reliable and durable than hard disk drives. The only disadvantage is the price, flash drives cost about 6 times more than hard disk drives. But since flash memory prices are expected to drop with an annual rate of up to 50 % the next years they will be more appealing to be used instead of hard disk drives.
